This Webinar – Exchange Competition and Fragmentation in Asia was recorded November 2 1, 2011 at 5pm Hong Kong time in a panel-style format. The webinar was timely in that Chi-X Australia had finally launched. The webinar examined the current state of exchange competition in Asia particularly in Japan where fragmentation has grown to around 8-9 % and Australia where it has only just begun. We did run two opinion polls during the discussion that asked:
1) How many alternative trading venues can Japan support
2) How much market share will Chi-X Australia capture by years end (this is an active opinion poll AsiaEtrading is running [Vote Here])
While it is recorded as a video the screen shows what was viewed by attendees during the entire webinar.
214 people registered.
The panelists included:
* Steve Grob, Director Group Strategy at Fidessa
* Mike Aitken, Chief Scientist Capital Markets CRC
* Josephine Kim Director Execution Sales SE Asia Bank of America Merrill Lynch
* Shamu Thambi Head of Pan Asian Market Structure and Liquidity Strategy Morgan Stanley
