HKEx January 2012 Trading Statistics

The average daily turnover in January 2012 was $55,618 million, a decrease of 26 per cent when compared with $75,016 million for the same period last year.
The average daily turnover of CBBCs in January 2012 was $7,084 million, an increase of 22 per cent when compared with $5,816 million for the same period in 2011.
There were 11 new listings in January 2012, an increase of 22 per cent when compared with 9 for the same period in 2011.
- Derivatives Market
The average daily turnover of futures and options in January 2012 was 493,038 contracts, a decrease of 3 per cent when compared with 506,832 contracts for the same period last year.
The average daily turnover of equity index futures in January 2012 was 172,586 contracts, an increase of 7 per cent when compared with 161,391 contracts for the same period last year.
On 31 January 2012, the open interest of HSCEI Dividend Point Index Futures reached a record high of 45,280 contracts.
