Overview:
Australian Securities Exchange
ASX Limited (formerly The Australian Stock Exchange Ltd.) operates Australia’s primary national stock exchange for equities, derivatives (options & warrants), and fixed interest securities. It also provides comprehensive market data, educational booklets and market/ industry summaries to a range of users. Ranked 8th on the MSCI index – the Australian Stock Exchange has a memoranda of understanding with the national exchanges in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Jakarta, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Surabaya, Shenzhen, Taiwan, Thailand and Singapore, with a view to building closer relationships with exchanges in its region to extend its network of market linkages.

The ASX uses a tailored version of OMX Technology’s CLICK XT application dubbed the Integrated Trading Systems (ITS) at the exchange. All ASX Trading Participants may access the ITS from anywhere from within Australia or outside the country. Access is granted through either an ASX-provided ITS Workstation or through its ITS Open Interface. Through the Open Interface, Trading Participants may link in-house dealing systems via a messaging interface to ITS. Participants may elect to acquire an Open Interface compatible dealing system from a third party or build their own.

Trading System
Stock Exchange Automatic Trading System (SEATS) for equities, warrants, options and interest rate securities. SEATS is owned by ASX and used by Brokers and other trading organisations. It is accessible by all ASX Trading Participants from anywhere within Australia and may be accessed from outside Australia

Trading Hours
SEATS trading: 10:00 – 16:00
Pre-opening: 07:00 – 10:00 (to enter, amend or cancel bids/offers)
Pre-opening to close: 16:00 – 16:15 (trading stops, brokers enter, change and cancel orders)
After hours adjust: 16:16 – 19:00 (trading executed manually off market)
