‘Twas the night before Christmas, the year at a loss
Not an order was stirring not even a cross

In hopes that the bonus soon would be there

While brokers were nestled all snug in their beds
With visions of trade performance dancing in their heads
With me at my computer resting tight in my lap
Updating the industry with the Asia Etrading app

Looking back at the year to see what had mattered
Confidence in the Euro is what had been shattered
Volatility had struck as if in a flash
Wondering when we would see the stock market crash

The quake in Japan was the worst we would see
The world and the nation still mourn the tragedy
The trading community would not be deterred
With electronic trading hardly disturbed

Exchange mergers attempted without much success
Why the marriage had failed is yours and my guess
Osaka and Tokyo seem to have ceded
Consolidation in Asia is what’s really needed

Competition at last was witnessed down under
Chi-X bringing with it lightning and thunder
Equinix and Fidessa were part of the game
With hosting and software that could not be tamed

The markets in Asia are changing real fast
So much is going on much more than the past
